History – From idea to company

In 1965, Hans Leutenegger founded the eponymous sole proprietorship as an assembly company in Geneva, which initially specialised in conversions, machine revisions and the assembly of new plants.

In 1972, the company was transformed into the present-day Hans Leutenegger SA (Hans Leutenegger AG) (Hans Leutenegger Ltd); the headquarters in Geneva remained in place and the shares are still 100% family-owned today.

The leasing of permanently employed technicians to third-party companies very quickly turned out to be a real gap in the market and encouraged the company founder to open a nationwide network of branches, which today comprises ten branches in Switzerland and a branch in Germany (subsidiary).

The changing conditions over time, including the introduction of the Employment Services Act (1991/92), have necessitated the ongoing modernisation and adaptation of the company model, particularly in the administrative area.
With the founding of the subsidiary - HANS LEUTENEGGER GmbH in the Freiburg im Breisgau area of Germany - in 2004/05, Hans Leutenegger SA entered the European market with the aim of exporting its proven philosophy and unique business model to the EU area.
Today, the Hans Leutenegger Group is one of the leading providers of personnel services in industry, chemistry, the finishing trade and technology, and employs around 1,000 employees in the field, as well as around 60 employees in administration.
